TRAINING SESSIONS by Squad:

Sprint Squad – Nick & Nigel

** This squad is currently on their end of track season break. Training will resume on Tuesday 26th September 2017.

Training schedule as below:

Tuesdays: 7pm – 8.30pm        

Little Marlow Athletics Track – All year round (Winter and Summer Season Training)

Thursdays: 7pm – 8.30pm

Winter season – At Cressex School Sports hall (Upstairs) – from mid October’16 to 23rd March’17)

Summer Season – At Little Marlow Athletics Track – from 30th March’17 to mid October’17)

Sundays: 9.00am – 11.00am.   

Winter Season – At Hughenden Park (meet in small car park on Hughenden Road) from mid October’16 to 26 February’17

Summer season – At Little Marlow Track – from 5th March’17 until further notice.

Sundays:         Track 10.00 to 12.00.

Tuesdays:        Track 19.00 to 20.30.

Thursdays:       Track 19.00 to 20.30.

From 02/10/2016 to 26/03/2017

Tuesdays:        19.00 to 20.30 at Little Marlow Track

Thursdays:       19.00 to 21.00 gym session at Wycombe High School.

Sundays:         09.30 to 11.45 at Hughenden Park.

Endurance Squad and Foundation Squad RC – Richard Claessens

Tuesday night (Endurance and Foundation Squad RC) – 7.00-8.30pm at Little Marlow Athletics Track. This runs all the year.

Thursday night (Endurance Squad only) – 7.00-8.30pm  (and  if Foundation Squad athlete –  it’s by prior arrangement with Richard).

Saturday morning – winter training (Endurance and Foundation Squads) 9.00-11.00am at Hughenden Park. This will begin on 2nd September 2017 until mid February 2018. (ie. our Winter Season training schedule). Meet point is at the entrance to children’s playground on Coates Lane.  Note that weekend training may change on match days. If uncertain, check with Richard.

Sunday morning (Endurance and Foundation Squads) 9.00-11.00am at Little Marlow Track from
5th March 2017  until we switch to Winter training schedule which means we move to training on Saturdays instead of Sundays. (ie. our Summer Season training schedule usually runs from around September/October to Febraury/March). If uncertain, check with Richard.

Endurance Squad – Mike Taylor

Tuesday night:

7.00-8.30 pm at Little Marlow Athletics Track (All Year round)

Thursday night:

7.15-8.30 pm at Gossmore Park, Gossmore Lane, Marlow (until 23rd March ’17).

7.00-8.30 pm at Little Marlow Athletics Track (from 26th March ’17)

Saturday morning (Winter training schedule):

9.00-11.00 am at Hughenden Park (From 2nd September 2017 until early March 2018).
Meet at the entrance to children’s playground on Coates Lane.

Sunday morning (Summer training schedule):

9.00-11.00 am at Little Marlow Athletics Track (This has now ended and will resume early March 2018 until Sept/Oct. 2018).

Endurance Squad (Seniors) – Matt Whiting

Group Training Sessions

Tuesday 7pm, Little Marlow Track – Event specific training – this will be the key session each week and we will try to run sessions for both middle and long distance as far as possible. Sometimes we’ll do some hills or longer reps on the road. We’ll always meet at the track.

Thursday 7pm, Gossmore, Marlow. This will generally be some longer road reps.

Saturday 9am Higginson Park, Marlow Threshold or hill running (venue may vary so stay in touch)

Sunday 9am Long Run. The venue will change

Note that the cost of the indoor Brunel University training is not covered by club fees.

Foundation Squad  DR – David Randall

This  Foundation squad trains  every Tuesday and some Saturdays.

Tuesday training – at the Track 7.00 – 8.30 pm – All year round

Saturdays (Summer season only) – at Wycombe Rye Park 10:30 – 12:00 pm – dates as advised by the coach via email. Please check.

Saturdays (Winter season) – This squad trains at Hughenden Park 09:00 – 11:00 (most Saturdays except for Competition weekends, where the club will be away competing e.g. at the Chiltern League or National cross country events. 2017 Winter training begins 2nd September 2017 until further notice (until around March 2018).

Tuesday’s FUNdamentals Squad – James, Shaun and Helen

***  Training re-starts on Tues 5th September 2017 at the Track @ 7 pm.  ***

This squad trains every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Training location varies depending on whether it is Winter or Summer season training.

 – Winter season: training takes place indoors at Cressex Community School in High Wycombe. (Early October to March annually)

 – Summer season: training sees the squad return to Little Marlow track for their training from 14/3/2017 until early October 2017. Exact date for moving indoors for winter training will be published later in the year.

Please note that during the Winter season (starting around September/October each year), all athletes aged 9+ are encouraged to attend our Saturday Outdoor training at Hughenden Park (which usually runs from 9:00 am to 11:00 am); athletes will train together with our Foundation Squad athletes. These sessions are fun and targeted at improving overall fitness and we make use of the varied terrain at the park. We would like to see as many of our young athletes from this squad to come to these outdoor sessions over the winter season whenever possible. We meet at the Coates Lane entrance to Hughenden Park, just outside the children’s play area.  Athletes should come to these sessions, prepared for all weather, wearing plenty of layers to keep warm and dry and have a coat with them.

Thursday’s FUNdamentals Squad – Jodie and Alex

This squad trains  every Thursdays  at  6 – 7 pm (year round), with an additional weekend session during the Winter Training season. More info. as below:

  •  Summer Training season (March 2017 – October 2017) – training will be outdoors at Little Marlow Track.
  •  Winter Training season (October 2017 – March 2018) – training will move indoors to an indoor gym (upstairs) at Cressex Community School in High Wycombe. Training sessions continue to run from 6 – 7 pm.

– Additionally, over the winter season, all athletes aged 9+ are encouraged to attend our Saturday outdoor training at Hughenden Park. These fun sessions are targeted at improving overall fitness for athletes of all abilities . Athletes attending these sessions will train together with our Foundation Squad athletes. These sessions make use of the varied terrain at the park. We strongly encourage all our young athletes to come to these sessions over the winter season whenever possible.  Athletes should come prepared for all weather training, wearing plenty of layers to keep warm and dry and have a coat with them.

Saturday Winter Training – 09:00 to 11:00 am – training at Hughenden Park, meeting at Coates Lane children’s play area.

Weekend training will not take place during cross country match days as coaches will be away at these matches. If in doubt, contact your coach for more details.

Throws Squads – Jodie and Alex

Every Tuesday at the Track 7.00 – 8.30 pm – All year round

In the Summer season, Thursday’s training is at the Track 7.00 – 8.30 pm

In the Winter season, Thursday’s training moves indoors; training will be at Cressex Community  School Gym 7.00 – 8.30 pm.

Weekend: No training over the winter season, returning to training some weekends at the track 10-12:00 noon. Please check with Jodie or Alex to find out plans for each weekend.
