Gain Extra League Points for the Club
and sound very grand for very little effort
As you know, one of the Club’s obligations is to provide judges / officials at all our league matches and for the County Championships. While you can go along and help on the day, the Club gets more points and you get more out of it if our volunteers are qualified.
And as the Jackson 5 said, it’s easy as 1,2,3…
- Go to a face to face “technical” course and take the accompanying health and safety course online. The courses are booked online at the England Athletics website: find and book a course and the Club reimburses the fee.
- Help at 4 events (easy when we have 12 league matches, plus the County Champs and our Club Champs every year) and jot these down on a simple form.
- Get your DBS up to date (England Athletics send you everything you need to do this so it’s painless).
Then you just tell the England Athletics accreditation team you’ve got it all and Bob’s your Level 1 Technical Official (which sounds very grand for so little effort). More information is on the EA website.
As luck would have it there are courses running at Horspath Road, Oxford in early November:
