Junior Race Report
Well done to all the U13 Girls who ran at the Chiltern League match in Oxford. We had a really good turnout with Evie, Libby, Ellie, Ivy, Aoife, Chloe, Iris and Emma all enjoying the rain and mud for the first meet of the season. Lyla and Mae were unfortunately injured and unable to run due to injury but came along to support.

Seniors Race Report
The first race of the Chiltern League at Horspath Lane in Oxford. It was a rainy day but it turned out to be a wonderful start to the XC season for Wycombe Phoenix Harriers.

There were also three break through performances from Alexandra Cook coming 3rd overall and 1st vet in 21.17. Myles Caddell in the senior men’s race coming 34th and (25th in division one) and second scorer for Wycombe in 31.39. Liam Busby also having a great run for fourth scorer 51st/39th in 32.49.

Under 20 Girls Wycombe 3rd Team. Great running Well done Girls!
Senior Women’s Race
Mel took the lead from the gun and quickly gave herself a considerable lead that was never challenged. Alex had a great race inspired by watching Kipchoge’s and his unlimited belief, after break 2 hours for the marathon earlier. She kept battling the lead pack to finish 3rd, her best finish in the Chiltern league so far. After missing 10 weeks of training and racing this summer I am not quite as fit as last year but I ran a good race to finish 7th. Laura ran well after also being careful to manage an injury finishing 4th scorer and 26th/17th in division 1. Jess always reliable and always delivers on the day with a great run for 30th/20th. Hannah who has only been training with us for four weeks ran a such an impressive race for her first ever cross country. Strong up the hills and in the mud she will get better with each race I am sure. What a great addition to the ladies team and 6th scorer to secure the Ladies Team win. Awesome work Ladies! We were low in numbers for this one but what we always lack in numbers we make up for in quality. We should have more ladies for the next race and we have three teams competing at the southern XC relays next weekend. We are also missing Pippa and Jenny who when they are both fit and ready to come back we will have the best team we have ever had.
1. Melanie Wilkins 20.47 2. Alice Burgin 21.14 Bedford and County 3. Alexandra Cook 21.17
7. Zoe Doyle 21.34 26. Laura Street 23.24 30. Jessica Gray 24.15 38. Hannah Lowther 25.03
43. Aaron Phillips 23.13 53. Nicholas Mitchell 25.01 54. Alex Mitchell 54
The men were missing some key members Joe, Sean, Finn and Chris. We hope they will be back for the next one but it is good to remember it is still early in a very long XC season. David Clark ran very well to come 21st and first scorer for Wycombe. Followed by two great performances by Myles and Liam for second and fourth for Wycombe. Keiran looked very strong up the hill but the course is not his favourite and he did struggle on the down hill but still finishing third scorer. Paul coming back after a week off but going well and coming home just ahead of Dean and Oli. Dean who has made a big step forward over the summer track season and Oli still on his come back from injury both had good runs. Tim, Clark and Scott all finishing well and also scoring for the club. Scott improving hugely on last years performance. Also running for Wycombe Shaun and Mike. Gareth managed one lap but decided not to aggravate his hamstring and hip injury and had to step off. It is a tough long course for the men with two times up the big hill.
